WHAT IS ANALYZING ERRORS OF INTERPRETATION?

Every Christian knows that opposition attack against the Bible stern from improper interpretation as an excused. The improper interpretation might be accidental or even deliberate a result of bias and unfairly raised against the Bible bases on three general categories.

Firstly, errors related to prejudice and biases because this interpretation is not a Christian or a Christian that have something against God or have his own way to interpret the Bible. This type of person distort the Bible, disbelieve the Bible as a work of God, rebellious because the Bible is not pleasing to him/her, lack of theological background, lack of spiritual maturity, too much influence of secular philosophies and imbalance between commitment or causes.

Secondly, errors related to meaning or perception. This is based on two meaningful statement of absolute and contextual meaning. Absolute meaning is determined by the help of vocabulary and grammar while contextual are thing surround him/her like historical, sociological and cultural background like a Chinese would not know about Indus culture unless I know their philosophy, sociology and culture. All these problem that lead to ignorance about the nature of the passages or teachings, getting the right or wrong keys of our human limitation because we are not omniscience. Linguistic limitation, mystery characteristic of doctrines, multiple meanings and inability to perceive divine action are other problems. In order to know God, we need to be very personnel with God. It might sound easy but it is hard work if we really want to do it.

Lastly the third reason, errors related to collection or integration. We know that information is scattered all over the Bible. The same subject are often presented a different context, culture and in different idioms. We cannot treat the Bible like any books or with various subjects. We need to read and understand the Bible in it own context and with God intervening to reveal the truth. We fail because we ignore some and emphasize other portions. We need to compare scripture with scripture with right deduction and not the way round. The Bible is a progressive nature of revelation. It has to interpret ate only in the light of revelation available up to the time like Old Testament era revelation is made clear in the New Testament era. Next, the progressive nature of human perception because God's revelation is progressive and not immediately reveal whenever we want to. God revelation is sufficient or total distinctive but man doubts it because they want to speculate with their own intelligent. We are emotional person and like to interpret ate base on what suit us and sometimes prejudice because it did not suit our denominational doctrines.

In conclusion, all these three functions or basis causes help us in understanding why we human tend to find Bible with errors. We need to put our trust and believe in the divine creator and He will reveal what we need to know.
